Trash Detection
Nauticlean uses onboard cameras and sensors to scan the water surface and identify floating plastic and waste. The system is programmed to detect high-density trash zones for optimized cleaning.
Auto-Path
Instead of following pre-programmed paths or GPS, Nauticlean independently plans its route in real time, moving towards areas with the highest waste concentration.
Smart Glide
Using fin-based propulsion, Nauticlean maneuvers through the water smoothly and efficiently, minimizing disturbance to the ecosystem while maximizing area coverage
Waste Capture
A rotating conveyor belt gently lifts plastic and debris from the water and moves it into the onboard storage. It collects waste continuously as Nauticlean travels through polluted areas.
Dock & Offload
Once the storage is full or the route ends, Nauticlean returns to its docking station. Here, collected waste is unloaded for further sorting and recycling.
Recharge
After offloading, the bot auto-recharges and resets for its next cleaning cycle, ready to reclaim our waters again — smarter and cleaner every time.

Charting the Course
I’m Samarth Mukhi, the mind and hands behind Nauticlean — a project born out of my deep concern for the growing crisis of marine pollution. What started as a simple idea quickly evolved into an advanced prototype built at IIT Delhi in collaboration with Rancho Labs. I poured months of research, design, and testing into creating a solution that could efficiently collect waste from water bodies while being sustainable and cost-effective. Nauticlean is more than just a project for me — it’s my way of contributing to a cleaner, healthier planet.
